About Catawba Radiological Associates, IncOur HistoryCatawba Radiological Associates, Inc., was established in 1950 by Dr Bell and Dr Oehlbeck. Since then, the practice has grown to become the leading radiological professional services group in Catawba County and the surrounding areas.
Our team of radiologists provides the area with a complete range of services from diagnostic to interventional radiology. Many of our physicians have been with CRA for 15, 20, even 30+ years. Their longevity has enabled us to provide significant stability within the local medical community, especially through periods of rapid industry growth and change. This longevity is also enhanced by our adamant support of continued training and education. Opportunities to attend industry seminars, conferences, classes, and training sessions are offered and encouraged for all of our staff members. In fact, Continuing Medical Education credits are required each year to maintain staff membership with CRA. We recognize the importance of keeping our physicians at the forefront of emerging policies, technologies, and standards - not just for the practice, but also for each individual's continued professional growth. In addition to training, we encourage our staff to join local, state, and national committees and organizations. We believe that active involvement in our profession improves our performance and enhances our community's knowledge base, helping advance our field on all levels. Our staff attends the national international diagnostic radiology conference, Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) each year in Chicago, and the international interventional radiology conference, Society of Interventional Radiology. Two of our physicians have served as president of the American College of Radiology (ACR), as well as having served as presidents of regional and local Radiology societies and as Chief of Staff of our hospitals. These are exceptional indicators that our staff is and remains at the forefront of our industry.
